The Deck Is Stacked

USNR’s Lunden Stickering Stacker is the culmination of design innovation and mill-tested application. The system was popularized by its unique design, and has over 200 in operation worldwide. And now, key advancements have made the USNR Lunden Stacker the fastest and most accurate stickering system available today.

Over 30 years ago Lunden Industries revolutionized stickering stacker systems by producing one of the first Crib stackers. USNR acquired Lunden Industries in 1986, and continues to manufacture 1/3 Crib, Crib, and Conventional style stackers for sticker lengths ranging from 48” to 120”.

In the tradition of innovation, USNR has enhanced the original Lunden design with the patented Quick-Cycle Stickering System and the Break-away Sticker Lifter Arms to create a unique and advanced stacker design that solves many issues common to other systems, like chain stretch, lug timing, stick handling, and maintenance issues. These common stacker problems have been alleviated by the USNR Lunden Stacker.

The USNR system places stickers on the stacker forks and positions the lumber on top of the stickers when the carriage is cycled, resulting in packages of great uniformity with almost perfect sticker alignment. And it’s fast. In green mill applications, USNR has achieved stickering speeds ranging from 10 -18 cycles per minute.

The patented Quick-Cycle Stickering System (QCS) achieves much faster cycle times while operating the sticker system at a slower speed. Relaxed loading and timing requirements make the system immune to chain stretch and other wear related issues. It all adds up to accurate sticker placement every time.

USNR’s patented Break-away Sticker Lifter Arms make it virtually impossible to damage the lifters or the stick pans in the event of a jam caused by a broken stick or board. The spring loaded break-away design allows the operator to clear the jam and reset the lifter arms quickly and safely by hand, no repair tools or extended downtime is needed.

The USNR Lunden Stacker offers a host of other capabilities and options, including course-gapping, random width pullback, sticker unloading (in case of a bowed sticker) and more.

USNR’s commitment to innovation keeps our products at the forefront of leading industry technology. The Stickering Stacker system, for example, uses Allen-Bradley’s Contrologix platform for controls programming. The advantage of using this platform is not only the higher horsepower and faster processors, but its commonality to other systems in the rest of the mill. Machine centers like the Shape saws, High-speed board Edgers and others are all programmed with the same advanced platform, making troubleshooting easier. This commonality lays the foundation for effortless upgrades and opens the door for future MillWide connectivity.

PRODUCT FEATURES

USNR Split Spiked Feed Rolls extend service life and reduce maintenance time.

42" Quad-Roll Log Turner with Split Spiked Feed Rolls

SPLIT SPIKED FEED ROLLS for LOG TURNERS

USNR's Split Spiked Feed Rolls for Log Turners provide several key advantages over traditional one-piece spiked rolls that reduce maintenance time and increase service life.

Longer service life - Why throw out the entire spike roll when the wear is mainly in the center? Now you don't have to, since our split roll segments are symmetric and fully interchangeable, allowing them to be rotated (similar to tires on a car) for more even wear and a longer service life.

Quick Replacement - Why spend hours disassembling your log turner - removing bearings, belts and drive-shafts - when the spike rolls need replacing? WIth USNR's split spike rolls, the bearings, shafts and hubs remain in place during spike roll changes, dramatically reducing maintenance time and expense.

USNR says Thank You to our customers for the new orders.

Your continued loyalty is appreciated and we pledge to continue to earn it!

Beach Timber of Alma, GA has installed a new USNR double-track dry kiln with Kiln Boss controls to dry poles. The kiln measures 32' x 92' with a capacity of 10,000 cubic feet. The order also included a Kiln Boss controls upgrade on an identical existing USNR dry kiln.

Bowater Lumber has placed an order to repanel a USNR aluminum frame dry kiln at the Albertville, AL mill.

Cafffal Brothers has ordered a USNR profiling Cant Maximizer with Smart TriCam scanning and optimization with controls for the mill in Longview, WA.

Centralia Sawmill purchased a USNR secondary breakdown line that includes a VSS and an Edger Optimizer with Controls along with Resaw Controls for the mill located in Centralia, WA.

Hood Industries of Waynesboro, MS purchased a USNR 84' double track high-temp dry kiln. The kiln is direct fired with a USNR green burner and controlled with Kiln Boss controls.

Interfor of New Westminster, BC has invested in the Dynastar computerized maintenance management system to gain greater efficiency in maintenance management functions. Dynastar allows key operational information about equipment, labor, work orders, budgets, and inventory to be stored and retrieved by sawmill management to improve planning, scheduling, and purchasing.

International Paper of Chapman, NC has upgraded the double length log optimizer system to USNR Smart TriCam scanning with dual scan zones. It was a fantastic start-up. Tim Crawford, Operations Manager said "Hurricane Dennis was bearing down and we wanted to finish before it hit. Everybody pulled together as a team and got it done ahead of schedule."

Back in February, International Paper of Whitehouse, FL ordered a partial repanel of two existing USNR high-temp, double track dry kilns. The order has since grown to encompass a complete repanel of both kilns, including new catwalks.

Lampe & Malphrus of Smithfield, NC recently installed a high-performance double track aluminum-frame USNR dry kiln. The company also hired USNR to repanel two existing Coe kilns.
